Michigan based entrepreneurs join forces to expands franchisee opportunities across the U.S.
Farmington Hills, MI – December 2025 – The co-owners of the Michigan based The Tomey Group, are pleased to announce a strategic partnership with another successful family-owned Michigan company, Phoenix Franchise Brands, who are headquartered in Livonia. Under this new agreement, Tomey Group principals, Anthony Tomey and Michael Tomey, will add to their personal business ventures a partnership with Phoenix Franchise Brands’, while continuing to own and operate the Tomey Group as a separate entity. The Tomey brothers have joined the leadership team as partners and strategic advisors focusing on helping to guide the company’s operations, scaling its existing brands, and driving development of new franchisees across all Phoenix Franchise Brands.
Anthony Tomey, who serves as CEO for The Tomey Group,
and Michael, who serves as CFO, helped start their family business in 2003 with a single Jimmy John’s in Novi to more than 50 locations in Michigan, making them the nation’s third-largest Jimmy John’s franchisee. Under the Tomey Group they also own and operate multiple real estate properties across Michigan. In addition, Michael is owner of credit card processor Bravo Payment Systems

Phoenix Franchise Brands was founded in 2020, is family owned and operated and headquartered in Livonia, MI. Our CEO Greg has been in franchising his entire career, over 40 years in the industry. He got his start at Ziebart International in Troy, MI. Became CEO of Mr. Handyman and Molly Maid in the early 2000’s in Ann Arbor, MI. He then started his own franchisor company, AFS in 2003. At AFS, he had 11 brands in automotive, home service, and food. He then went to Regis International, a global franchisor in the haircare space, followed by Huntington cleaners and then eventually started Phoenix Franchise Brands in 2020 with his wife Maria. Over the next few years, PFB added more brands and continued to grow. Greg’s son Kevin joined the company in 2022 as an equity owner. There are additional family members in the business, Greg’s wife Maria (her son Michael), his other son Steven, son in law Riley, daughter in law Anne, and 150 other w2 employees that are considered family. In 2020, PFB started with Fetch Pet Care. PFB quickly started to grow by adding new brands to its footprint.
