ANN ARBOR, Mich. (Jan. 2026) – Busch’s Fresh Food Market, a family-owned supermarket chain in south-east Michigan, is celebrating Valentine’s Day and Fat Tuesday with the sweetest of offerings. To celebrate Valentine’s Day, Busch’s bakery will be having a new Curate Your Own Dessert Flight event in stores on Friday Feb. 13 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Sat. Feb 14 from 11a.m. to 3 p.m. Bakery specialists will walk guests through an assortment of petit fours, truffles, mini cupcakes, cookies, and dipped berries to assist them in creating the perfect flight for their sweetie. In addition, a new limited edition “Better Together Box”, a charcuterie pack for two, will be available in the artisan cheese case on Feb. 13 and 14. Then for Fat Tuesday (or Paczki Day) locally made fresh, never frozen, paczki, including difficult-to-find prune varieties, will be available through Feb.17 at all Busch’s stores. “We’re feeling the love for our guests this February! For Valentine’s Day, guests can take part in a Curate Your Own Dessert Flight event, where we will be offering an assortment of decadent, bite-sized treats. Couples can engage in this fun activity together or choose what they know their partner enjoys. And don’t forget the chocolate dipped berries – our Bakehouse decorators are hand dipping and hand decorating long stem strawberries for the holiday, a classic way to say “I love you,” said Bakery Category Manager, Fauna Hartley. “For those with a passion for charcuterie, our limited edition Better Together Boxes, which includes delicious cheeses and salami, provides another special way to celebrate with the one you love.”
Each Better Together Box includes Sweet Soppresata (an Italian salami),
Sartori Merlot Bellavitano Cheese, LaClaire Fig & Honey Goat Cheese, Divina Sour Cherry spread and two Lindt salted caramel truffles. The store will also be having a special three-day Valentine’s Surf and Turf sale from Feb. 13-15 for couples looking to share a special meal.
Hartley said that Paczki Day is always an important celebration for Busch’s guests. “We know how much our local communities love to indulge in these symbolic treats. It really is part of our regional heritage,” she said. “Our paczki are baked fresh every day, never frozen, and offer all the flavors our customers love. This year we even have paczki-flavored beers to go with the pastries!”
Raspberry Jam Paczki Beer, Maple Coffee Pastry Paczki Stout and Lemon Blueberry Sour Paczki Beer,
are just some of the beers available from Detroit-based Eastern Market Brewing Company. If you prefer liquor, Detroit City Distilling Company Paczki Vodka will also be available at Busch’s.
