RotoGrinders uncovered the odds for what’s showing up in Easter baskets this year, including how likely you are to end up with Peeps.

Our analysis took into consideration regional candy preferences and historical Easter basket staples to estimate where Peeps are most (and least) likely to appear.

While they’re a staple of the holiday, not every state is equally likely to get the controversial marshmallow treat.

Fun Findings

  • Peeps have just a 20% chance of showing up in your basket (4/1 odds), making them far from a lock

  • Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs (65%) and Cups (60%) dominate as the most likely Easter candies

  • Chocolate overwhelmingly beats out marshmallow, with classics like Cadbury Mini Eggs (55%) and Hershey’s (50%) ranking near the top

  • Peeps rank 10th overall, highlighting just how divided Americans are on the polarizing treat
