Purple Rose Theatre Company Partners with Little Licks Tasty Treats Ice Cream Truck for Nostalgic Summer Nights August 15th and August 26th, 2026, Chelsea, MI

WHAT:

Jeff Daniels’ Purple Rose Theatre Company in Chelsea, Michigan has partnered with Little Licks Tasty Treats ice cream truck to create the perfect night of 80s and 90s nostalgia.

The idea was inspired by The Purple Rose’s summer comedy, Emma’s Wedding(s) by Carey Crim. Emma is getting married. Again. For the fourth time, actually. But she’s determined that this one will be the one. Gathering her less-than-enthusiastic best friends, they revisit each of Emma’s previous weddings, leading to a hilarious romp through the decades, complete with ’80s hair, dial-up internet, Boone’s Farm wine and the enduring power of friendship. The production runs now through August 30, 2026.

On the street in front of The Purple Rose, Little Licks Tasty Treats will have ice cream for sale. Travel back to the summer nights of childhood with strawberry shortcake bars, gumball eyed character pops, and the song that would have you running down the sidewalk. Or if you’ve outgrown Ninja Turtles and Bomb Pops, try her Michigan-made gourmet ice cream cups and sandwiches.
