Family Movie Review: CAMP

How many of you are aware of or are involved with Royal Family Kids?  As you know, it is the “Nation’s leading network of camps for abused, neglected, and abandoned children.”  It was founded by Wayne and Diane Tesch!

Just recently a family movie was released: CAMP.  Let me just say that this movie is very inspiring.  I know that I have a burden for abused, neglected, and abandoned children.  I would love to be able to foster a child one day.  It’s such a beautiful thing.

What is CAMP about? (As seen on back of DVD cover)

“To impress a potential clients, financial advisor Ken Matthews (Michael Mattera) signs up to be a counselor at a camp for kids in the foster system.  Paired with Eli (Miles Elliot), a 10 year-old that is determined to hate camp, Ken’s annoyance by his camper’s antics leads to Eli getting into trouble with camp director Tammie Pickens (Grace Johnston).  However, when Ken discovers Eli’s dark past, his apathy turns to compassion.  But how do you fix years of brokenness in just a couple days of summer camp?  Inspired by true stories of ordinary people who provide extraordinary help for abused and neglected kids, CAMP is a tale of hope shining in the dark places for forgotten children.”~CAMP

The movie delivered more than I expected. I would definitely watch it again and this time with my entire family.

Be advised that there is light swearing in the movie, so it’s best to possibly get a filter to protect those young ears. It’s from (hard living from a little boy and the worldly camp counselor)  Both lives are changed in the end which is truly magnificent!

I would love to give you full details of the movie, but that would just ruin it for you.  I guess you will just have to watch it with your family, haha!

I definitely recommend this beautiful movie CAMP for all families.  If you have a heart for Royal Family Kids and the Foster System, this movie will tug at your heart strings.
