In effort to spur blood and platelet donations, the Suburban Propane-supported event will offer the community an opportunity to volunteer for a worthy cause.

WHAT:
As part of the American Red Cross’ summer blood and platelet donation efforts, Suburban Propane, a proud national sponsor of the Red Cross Blood Services, will be supporting the blood drive at Veterans of Foreign Wars. This is just one of many blood drives as part of a summer long partnership for communities to get involved and build awareness about the constant need for blood and platelet donations.

Those who come to donate can enjoy an on-site cookout and get a $10 Visa gift card, courtesy of Suburban Propane.

WHO:
The event will include representatives from Suburban Propane and the Red Cross, as well as blood and platelet donors from the Fenton area.

WHEN:
Monday, June 12, 2017, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.

WHERE:
Veterans of Foreign Wars
1148 N. Leroy Street
Fenton, Michigan 48430

WHY:
Summer vacations and travel can contribute to reduced availability for people to give blood or platelets. However, patients don’t get a summer holiday or vacation from needing lifesaving blood. Knowing this, Suburban Propane is supporting the Red Cross’ increased efforts this summer to help ensure blood is available for patients in need. The Red Cross relies on volunteer donors for the nearly 14,000 blood donations needed every day to support patients at about 2,600 hospitals and transfusion centers nationwide.
