Commonly Used Tech You Need to Disinfect (Infographic)
These are unprecedented times, and as mothers, most of us have been working overtime to make sure the most used items in our household are germ-free. It’s surprising then, that even in the midst of COVID-19,
49% of Americans still don’t disinfect electronics.

That number is worrisome, considering our most used gadgets house more bacteria than a public toilet seat. As your kids’ screentime increases with ample time spent at home, it’s time to maintain the same cleaning standards with electronics as we do with other household appliances.
According to Panda Security,
the following gadgets should be sanitized often, ordered from dirtiest to least:
- Keyboard
- Cell phone
- Computer mouse
- Remote control
- Gaming controller
Before disinfecting electronics, read the specifications for any instructions from the manufacturer.
Generally, your technology can be cleaned with a few standard steps. First, remove any visible particles from the surface. Next, use an EPA approved disinfectant-soaked towel. Make sure the towel you choose is not abrasive to avoid any damage on your device. Lastly, wipe down your electronics with as little moisture as possible, avoiding openings.
