The Purple Rose Theatre Company Partners with Serendipity Book for Agatha Christie Event March 22, 2026, Chelsea, MI!

WHAT:

Jeff Daniels’ Purple Rose Theatre in Chelsea, Michigan has partnered with Serendipity Books for “Murder at the Bookstore.”

This event will be a sneak peek of the Michigan world premiere, “Murder on the Links” by Steven Dietz, which runs April 2 through May 31, 2026 at The Purple Rose Theatre. A fun new adaptation brings the famed Belgian detective, Hercule Poirot, to life to solve one of Agatha Christie’s most intricate whodunits. A cast of six versatile actors embody a myriad of characters as they navigate the twists and turns of this golf-themed comic mystery.

This exclusive event will give attendees a preview of that production while continuing in the community spirit of Chelsea, Michigan that was so evident in Serendipity Books’ recent viral video of their community “Book Brigade,” in which everyone in the town handed each other books to move them one at a time to their new location.

Attendees will enjoy refreshments while mingling with the actors, then take a seat for preview scenes from the play. Following the sneak-peek performances, there will be an opportunity for a guided audience Q&A.

An intimate, unique event to glimpse behind the scenes, chat with the actors, and celebrate the connections created by community bookstores and theatres.
