Leon & Lulu Celebrates the Written Word with Fourth Annual Books & Authors Event 10/27-Clawson

Leon & Lulu Event to Benefit the Detroit Free Press’ Gift of Reading Program

Oct. 2, 2013 (Clawson, MI) – Book it to Leon & Lulu Sunday, October 27 from 11 to 5 p.m. for the fourth-annual, award-winning Books & Authors event. Celebrate the written word and those who put pen to paper with this free event, which benefits the Detroit Free Press’ Gift of Reading Program.

An expected 50 authors—including WJBK Fox 2’s Alan Lee, who recently published Sandstorm—will be there in person, signing books and giving readings.

Leon & Lulu Owner Mary Liz Curtin says to expect a wide array of titles and subjects. “We will have fiction, memoirs, travel books, children’s books, local interest and more,” says Curtin. “This event gives authors a chance to meet their fans, mingle with the public and sell their books while we raise money for the Gift of Reading program.”

Any published author who is living in or has previously lived in Michigan, writes about Michigan or who simply knows how to spell Michigan, may submit his or her work for consideration. Please visit www.leonandlulu.com/books for submission guidelines.

In addition, Leon & Lulu is accepting donations of new children’s books for the Gift of Reading. Books may be dropped off during store hours until November 1.
