Southern Caramel Confections Just Made My Life “Sweeter!”

Southern Caramel Confections Just Made My Life “Sweeter!”

I received samples of Southern Caramel ($27 Value) in exchange for this review. Any opinions expressed here are honest and my own.

Hey, mamas and dads too… I found a new candy shop that has unexpectedly satisfied my sweet tooth! Have you heard of Southern Caramel? I was excited to try these confections from the moment I learned about them. Is your mouth watering yet?

Well, to be honest,

I am not a huge fan of caramel, but when I saw pics and learned even more about the products, I knew I just had to give them a try. Before I go into detail, let me share with you a little bit about the company.

“Southern Caramel was founded by Sarah Smith. She began making caramel as Christmas gifts for loved ones and co-workers in 2012. Many people encouraged her to start a business and sell her caramel, which was rapidly growing in popularity with those that had tried it.  At the time, she enjoyed her job in project management and scheduling for the aerospace industry…Sarah’s business launched with humble beginnings. She made the caramel out of her home kitchen in the evenings, while still working in her aerospace job during the day.  By 2015, she was operating out of a commercial kitchen of a local business that had been kind enough to share its facility with her.”

Here is the sample box I received.

Let me just ask, how adorable is the packaging? Love it!

So sweet and modern at the same time. I was super excited to open up the box and see what was inside. I felt like a kid at Christmas time. 😉

I received 4 little boxes full of a variety of sweet caramel confections. The flavors I received in my sample box were:

  • Coffee Caramels
  • Lavender Tea Caramels
  • Sea Salted Caramels
  • Chocolate Strawberry Caramels

Let me just say, I don’t have a favorite.

It was just too hard to choose! The flavors in each box are amazing!! If you worry that the caramel is too chewy and that it will stick to your teeth, no worries there. The caramel dissolves perfectly in your mouth. This is all in the process of how the caramels are made. The key ingredient is pure cane sugar which they thoroughly caramelize. My little handwritten note from Sarah Smith thanking me for the review.

What I truly appreciate is that the caramels are made by hand in small batches. Here is what you will see on the back of each little box:

“Located in Central Florida, our caramel is made by hand in small batches. It is a tradition that spans generations; a tradition focused on giving.”

Each caramel just bursts with flavor. In fact, I had to hide them or I could easily eat them all in one sitting! LOL! Soooo good. You will definitely want to try Southern Caramel. I think these would make great gifts as well.

I would like to thank everyone over at Southern Caramel for giving me the opportunity to sample their amazing caramels! It was a blast! My 11-year-old enjoyed sampling them too. 😉
