I recently met an amazing Christian author; Jan May.  She is the creator/author of The New Millenium Girl Adventures books.

I was ecstatic when Jan offered me the opportunity of reviewing one of her books: Callie’s Contest of Courage.

“Follow Callie on her journey of trust, hope, and the power of prayer.”

Here is the summary of Callie’s Contest of Courage as seen on the back of the book:

Eleven year-old Callie Fleming is a passionate animal lover!  She’s been waiting all year to enter photos in the I Love Nature Photo Contest.  Her dad, who is the coolest dad in the world, is an award-winning photographer and Marine Corps Reserves Sergeant.  She is counting on his help to win.  But with her father is untimely deployed overseas, and becomes strangely silent to her emails, she finder her whole world crashing down on her.  Can she muster up the courage to step out on a journey that whisks her away from all the things she loves?

My soon-to-be 11 year old (avid reader) was excited to read and review this book right along with me.  She read it in a few days and wants to read more of Jan May’s books.

A Tweens Review:

“If you are a tween girl and have siblings, you can totally relate to Callie.  I would recommend this book to every tween girl who likes to read. I like that Callie’s father who was overseas gave Callie his camera for a contest. I really like that it’s a Christian girls book series including Bible verses. I think the author did an amazing job!” ~Kelly C.

As a parent I highly approve of this book and the girl adventures.  They are wholesome reading perfect for a tween girl blossoming in life.  As a homeschooling family, I think it’s superb and will be utilizing these books with my other two girls when they become tweens along with her amazing homeschooling resources.

You can currently purchases Callie’s Contest of Courage by Jan May through the New Millenium Girls Books Bookstore.  It is currently $7.95 or you can enter the giveaway below.  Please read the terms and conditions of the giveaway before entering.  Thank you.

About New Millennium Girl Books

Callie’s Contest of Courage is the second book in the New Millennium Girl series. The first book, Isabel’s Secret, features a fun loving eleven-year-old girl growing up with her beloved horse, Starlight, on Angel Ridge Horse Ranch: Everything is going fine for Isabel until a holiday visit from Grandmother Biltmore reveals a mysterious family secret. Author, Laura Vernet Price Hilton wrote, “Isabel’s Secret kept my ten year old captivated, she snatched it and read it in a day.” It is sure to bless any eight to twelve-year-old. Who are the New Millennium Girls? They are girls who are growing up in this generation who believe their God is bigger than all the giants in the land; girls with the faith of Joshua and Caleb; girls with a different spirit.   Our company, New Millennium Girl Books, was birthed from a desire to write fun and engaging books for girls that would encourage vibrant faith and build Christian character. Our writing curriculum, Creative Writing Made Easy-Introducing Isabel is atwelve week writing curriculum that has a main instruction book and an accompanying paper doll and craft book, where the student creates the character they are writing about and designs her clothing. It’s truly a wonderful writing adventure! One reviewer wrote, “It turned writing time into a delight!”   Last year we expanded to include books for boys as well such as The Spies of the Revolutionary War-make a battle drum, create a secret code, become a spy and write about it! This has proved to be a true way to involve a reluctant writer!   Our books are available at Christianbooks.com. Rainbow Resource, Amazon, Currclick, and through our website www.NewMillenniumGirlBooks.com.

    1. I totally loved those too. I am now introducing Babysitter’s Club to my 11 year old. Love it. =)

  1. I can not remember the name of the book I loved… It was about a girl who found a secret cottage. Mandy? I know I have it somewhere… Time to get it out again!
