Ongoing Locks of Love Events

A worthy, no, beautiful cause that is dear to my heart is Locks of Love.  Locks of Love is a “non-profit organization dedicated to helping disadvantaged children who have suffered from hair loss, usually from any medical diagnosis.”  Ages 21 and under benefit from this program.
Locks of Love creates wigs from hair they receive through donations.  My middle daughter will be(6) donating her hair to Locks of Love, so proud of her.  It feels good to be able to help a child who has lost their hair to these devastating circumstances.  Raising a child’s self-esteem is so important and this cause does just that.
There are ongoing Locks of Love events in Michigan.  Here are the details if you would be interested in donating your hair:
  • Lockworx Salon in Lansing, books services for those who would like to donate their hair to Locks of Love.  Donate 10 inches or more to Locks of Love, and your haircut is free! www.lockworx.com/index.html
  • Serendipity Salon in Ann Arbor offers your haircut at half the price if you donate 10 inches or more of your hair. www.a2serendipity.com/espresso_live/index.html
  • Salon Decadence in Saginaw can arrange for your hair to be donated directly to Locks of Love.  A thank you letter will be mailed after your donation has been received. www.salondecadence.com/index.htm
