Disclosure:  I received a copy of The Barnes & Noble Guide to Children’s Books in exchange for this post here on Michigan Home Mommy Works.  Any opinions expressed here are my own.

Happy Tuesday.  I received an awesome guide in the mail that I think you as moms will thoroughly enjoy.  While I plan to share it on my homeschooling blog, I just had to share it with you too.  What is this guide I am speaking of?

The Barnes and Noble Guide to Children’s Books by Kaylee N. Davis.

How do you choose the right book for your child when there are so many choices, formats, and new technologies?  The Barnes & Noble Guide to Children’s Books by children’s book specialist Kaylee Davis has been created to assist with the selection process!

Organized by age, subject, and reading level-and alphabetically by author- this guide will help you choose the best books for your family library or the perfect gift for a loved one.  The easy-to-browse chapters are filled with thoughtful reviews of the “best of the best” books within the following categories:
  • Newborn to two years
  • Picture books
  • Beginning readers
  • Chapter book series
  • Middle grade readers
  • Innovative formats
  • Fairy tales, folktales, and anthologies
  • Poetry
  • Growing up experiences and new transitions/milestones
  • Nonfiction and reference
This guide distinguishes itself from those already on the market with guest essays from renown children’s books gurus like” Nick Bruel, Marianna Mayer, Michael Hague, Mo Willems, Sandra Boynton, Eoin Colfer, Neil Gaiman, Susan Jeffers, Kevin Henkes, John J. Muth, Mary Pope Osborne, Robert Lane Smith, and Peter Yarrow.  Every book recommendation has been carefully vetted, too!

I cannot wait to utilize this book!  If you would like to purchase this book click here.  It is currently only $8.98 for this hardcover book.

The book does include essays by best-selling authors and illustrators.  Good stuff!

I would like to thank the author; Kayle Davis for allowing me to promote her book today.  I am excited for it to be a part of our home library.
