Family Vacation Destination – #GreatWolfLodge, Traverse City

Great Wolf Lodge is North America’s largest family of indoor waterpark resorts with thirteen locations nationwide. Each resort serves up quality accommodations coupled with exceptional service alongside a bevy of popular amenities all under one roof (from expansive waterparks to Scooops® Kid Spas to an interactive experience to grab a wand and battle a dragon called MagiQuest®).

Are you planning any family-centric stories that might be a fit for Great Wolf? I’ve included a few highlights below that I hope will pique your interest, from their Howl-O-Ween and Snowland celebrations to kids programming and the Wine Down Service, created as a turndown amenity just for parents.

Howl-O-Ween: Costumes and family water park fun come together during Great Wolf Lodge’s Howl-O-Ween celebration. Lasting the whole month of October, Howl-O-Ween festivities include Costume Parades, Trick or Treat Trails, scary-silly Story Times and Monsters Bash Dance Parties, making for the most spooktacular Halloween.

Snowland: Great Wolf Lodge’s month-long winter celebration, Snowland, offers festive activities from visits with Santa and Mrs. Clause to indoor snow showers to a Polar Wolf Walk. For a truly delectable experience, visitors are invited to dine inside the resort’s life-size gingerbread house. Other activities are Santa’s Letter Depot, North Pole University with holiday themed projects and the Great Clock Tower Holiday Show and Story Time.

Spring-A-Palooza: During the month of March and into April, Spring-a-Palooza is Great Wolf Lodge’s celebration of everything spring, and the Grand Lobby at the resort is Spring-a-Palooza central.  Here guests will find colorful spring decorations throughout, including a special Great Wolf Lodge character-themed garden for children to explore. Special spring-inspired activities and events take place daily, like the Bubble Dance Party, Jelly Bean Guessing Game, Spring-A-Palooza Story Time and spring themed crafts.

Wine Down Service: Based on adult guest feedback on the need for a parental turndown service, indoor waterpark resort Great Wolf Lodge launched Wine Down Service across its 14 U.S. locations. Teaming up with The Wine Group, the duo developed a menu that features both sweet and savory culinary treats with wine pairings that can be delivered to the guestrooms after children go to bed. To avoid waking up the kiddos, a “pack member” sends a text announcing the delivery is on its way rather than knocking.

Kids Programming: Great Wolf Lodge’s entirely complimentary Kids Programming is split up into three sections during the day to offer educationally stimulating activities in the early morning, afternoon and evening. While families eagerly wait for the waterpark to open, Wake Up with Wiley and Friends is the perfect activity to keep kids busy with yoga movements, breathing exercises and talks about nature and the seasons. In the afternoon, kids are welcome to take a break from the water to join the Lunchtime Lineup to get crafty with balloon animals, face painting, selfie stations and more. To end the night, a PJ Party is held every evening for Great Wolf kids to enjoy games, dance parties and hang out sessions.

Scooops Kid Spa: Parents and kids can treat themselves together to a refreshing appointment with a sweet touch. The menu includes services like ice cream-themed fizzy soaks, chocolate organic facials and sherbet scrubs.

Clubhouse Crew: Sometimes all a child needs is a friend to hold close. Children can bring their favorite Great Wolf Kids character to life at the Creation Station with a character plush toy. They can then set out with their new friend on an exciting, interactive adventure that transforms the lodge into a playground, with fun activities at every stop.
