Michigan Mommy Christmas

Hello fellow Michigan mommies.  I am sorry for the delay in posting.  My sweet uncle passed away Tuesday morning. (My mom’s younger brother)  It has been a rough road, but God is faithful and we know that he is no longer suffering and that we will see him again one day.  My heart aches, but it is full at the same time.  Supernatural peace is amazing.  Please keep my mom and the family in your thoughts and prayers as we prepare for his memorial in the days ahead.

Here’s a question for you regarding Christmas traditions and I would love to hear from you about this.  What is one family Christmas tradition that you do with your family?  This doesn’t have to involve gifts.  For example, my family lights a Christmas candle in memory of our son that passed away in 2005.  It is just something we started shortly after his passing and have been going strong ever since.  On Christmas morning we always read the story of Christ’s birth out of the Bible and sing Happy Birthday to Jesus.  The girls want to start making a cake or something too, so I thought that would be fun and sweet.  We try to make it as memorable as possible.  I understand that a lot of families struggle during this time of year so I want to be sensitive to that as well.

Feel free to post your comments below.  I look forward to reading them.

Many Blessings!
